Come celebrate our nation’s birth in Germantown!

Cliveden will be open to visitors on Independence Day from 12 PM to 4 PM. Admission is FREE! We will have a variety of activities for visitors of all ages, such as tours of our Main House; our newest exhibition, The Chews & The Complex Institution of Slavery, our permanent exhibition, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness? and loaned objects from the Lest We Forget Slavery Museum in our Carriage House; and interactive activities in our 1767 Kitchen Dependency and 1959 Kitchen. 

Germantown played an important role in our nation’s birth and we’re excited to share it with you. Feel free to stop by and learn about our nation’s history in your own backyard!

    The Philadelphia Chapter of N'COBRA presents a Reparations Awareness Day Symposium entitled "Forty Acres and a Mule in the 21st Century" on Saturday, February 23rd at 3 PM.     Celebrating the 242nd anniversary of the Battle of Germantown!

    Germantown’s colonial history comes alive at the Revolutionary Germantown Festival! From 10 AM to 4 PM, visit Historic Germantown sites, watch two reenactments of the Battle of Germantown on Cliveden’s grounds, and enjoy a day of fun, food, and history in your backyard! After the battle, visit Historic Grumblethorpe for the Battle Bash–the annual after Battle party filled with food, music, and reenactors. 

    Admission is FREE and has activities for visitors of all ages. Mark your calendars for October 5th--we promise a day unlike any other!
