Drawing on new archival research, Liberty to Go to See takes audiences on a journey through the lives of the Chew family and the men and women - black, white, enslaved, and free - who worked for the family from the 1760s to the 1860s. An outdoor play and accompanying activities will not only explore how each character pursues liberty for themselves but asks visitors to examine what freedom and liberty mean historically and today.

There will be five showings of Liberty to Go to See: June 15th, 16th, and 17th at 7pm; Saturday, June 18th at 12pm and 3pm as part of Historic Germantown's Juneteenth celebration. Each performance will have forty seats available and tickets can be purchased through the online form below. Rain dates are also available in case of cancelling a performance due to the weather.
