Support the 2019 Revolutionary Germantown Festival!
The Battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777 was George Washington’s attempt to liberate occupied Philadelphia from the British. Today, we commemorate the Battle with the Revolutionary Germantown Festival, a neighborhood-wide celebration of Germantown’s history, spanning across the 18 sites of Historic Germantown. This day-long event features two battle reenactments, family-friendly activities, a beer garden, food trucks, and more!
Join us Saturday, October 5, 2019 in celebrating the 242nd anniversary of the Battle of Germantown by supporting the Revolutionary Germantown Festival. The Festival is a chance for over 5,000 visitors to participate in family-friendly activities and witness two reenactments of the Battle of Germantown. Cliveden started dialogue in 2018 with our communities to understand how the Festival relates to their experiences with gun violence. Cliveden plans to continue the conversation this year to help find resonance between past and present.
By donating to Cliveden, you will help fund an over 40 year long tradition of providing a community cultural event for free. Your contribution helps produce the Festival, as well as the important interpretive, outreach, and preservation work we do year-round to engage our visitors to participate in their own history.
