Archaeology in Cliveden’s Work Yard!

October 9, 2021

9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Visit Cliveden this Saturday, October 9th from 9am to 4pm to view an archaeological investigation of the Work Yard behind the Main House. This archaeology is part of a cultural landscape project to learn more about the people who lived and worked here and how the property changed over time. Archaeologists will be on site to show visitors what they are finding, how they work, and to answer questions.

To enter Cliveden’s grounds, visitors should come through the side gate located near the corner of Cliveden and Morton Streets. If traveling via driving or public transportation, use the following address to find the side entrance: 98 E. Cliveden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19119.

We recommend that visitors wear comfortable shoes as the Work Yard is grassy and there may be leaves, black walnuts, and other plant life from the trees.
