Cliveden Second Saturday Spotlight Tours is extended to November!
On Saturday, November 9th at 10:30am, Cliveden Preservation Director Libbie Hawes and architectural conservator Andy Palewski discuss the 18th and 19th century well at the Cliveden Kitchen Dependency: its construction, the technology used to bring needed water to the kitchen and household, and the processes used to remove and restore the well shaft, wood well pump sections, and hardware. The program includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen and well and a look at the pump parts being restored. Part of the Transcending Thresholds initiative to study, restore and interpret the services spaces at Cliveden.
General admission is $20; $10 for 19119 and 19144 residents. Tickets can be purchased in advance here: https://cliveden.org/water-well/ or purchased on the day of at the Cliveden Barn.
