Join Kristina Schieferecke for the Mt. Airy Learning Tree class Growing Herbs! This course will provide you with the tools to plant, grow, and cultivate five herbs, and will explain the medicinal value of each. Both herbs and gardening have amazing health benefits: herbs through their medicinal properties and gardening through providing opportunities for grounding, being present and stimulating relaxation. The health benefits of each herb will be laid out clearly, gardening tips for help with cultivation discussed, and recipes for utilizing the herbs will be provided. The herbs that will be included in this course are rosemary, mint, lavender, sage, and basil, which can aid in relieving stress, improving sleep, improving cognition and many other benefits. Based on timing and student interest, additional herbs may be discussed.

Growing Herbs will be held in Cliveden’s Carriage House and Visitor Center; masks are required for vaccinated and unvaccinated attendees.

The class fee is $34. To register, visit https://aceweb.mtairylearningtree.org/CourseStatus.awp?&course=22SFH08.
